An 11-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy have been charged with aggravated battery after the pair brutally tortured their 5-year-old girl cousin, who died from being tortured. County Coroner Scott Hahn confirmed the death of Marie Sadlyne B. Pierre, a Haitian national, has been ruled a homicide. Marie’s two cousins told police some of the torture sessions were ordered by their older sister, Charlene Tabb, 29, who with her 53-year-old husband, Marcus, faces a charge of neglect of a dependent causing death. The cousins attacked the girl with pliers, a hammer, a leather belt and screwdrivers, among other items. Police said the victim's body had more than 80 marks or injuries, including open sores and 'odd markings' on both her nipples, which appeared to have been pinched with pliers. The 2 minors revealed that the 5-year-old was repeatedly punished for ‘bad behavior,’ such as vomiting and urinating on the floor. Police Chief Steve Stewart has called it ‘one of the most horrific cases’ he has seen in 28 years of police work.

Sammo Hung's "The Bodyguard" in Singapore cinemas now. It's still worth a watch for martial art fans, but be warned : like some Donnie Yen movies, there are only 2 actual Sammo Hung martial art fight scenes in the movie, a short one a quarter-way into the movie, then nothing till the finale fight scene (Sammo versus a dozen Chinese gangsters, then Sammo versus 3 Russian gangsters) at the end of the movie. Also, the entire movie is mainly just Sammo Hung and a little bit of Andy Lau (who dies halfway into the movie), while all the other big names are just cameo appearances lasting a few seconds each, mostly old friends of Sammo's from the HK movie industry, and a couple of younger actors agreeing to the cameos out of respect and admiration for Sammo, who directs this movie.

SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Sunday (Apr 10) responded to comments made on Facebook by his sister Lee Wei Ling claiming he was "abusing his power". In a statement on Facebook, Mr Lee said: “I am deeply saddened by my sister Dr Lee Wei Ling’s claim that I have abused my power to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s passing in order to establish a dynasty. The accusations are completely untrue."
In one of the emails released by Dr Lee, she said that she "and HL are at odds on a matter of principle" with regard to the commemoration, and that Mr Lee had "no qualms abusing his power to (have) a commemoration just one year after Lee Kuan Yew died".
Lee Wei Ling posted : "Let's be real, last year's event was so vivid, no one will forget it in one (year). But if the power that be wants to establish a dynasty, LKY's daughter will not allow LKY's name to be sullied by a dishonourable son."

If you've been reading the Facebook comments on this LHL vs LWL issue, you would know that this issue has become extremely polarizing to Singaporeans, not so much *for* either LHL or LWL, but (unsurprisingly the sentiments are) more *anti* LHL or *anti* LWL. Majority of Singaporeans are using this latest issue (the sibling spat between LHL and LWL) to attack either LHL or LWL. Fact is, both are them are just doing what they feel is ethically right and helpful, so (unlike most other Singaporeans who use this issue to attack either 1 or both LHL and LWL), I can actually empathize and sympathize with both LHL and LWL. Both are just doing what they feel is appropriate and correct, but ironically end up in a spat over LKY that would ironically upset LKY himself (who in the afterlife or intermissive period now is certainly aware, or has information access to, what's going on here on Earth in the world of the living, but his interest in physical earthly matters, even within the Lee family, would certainly be significantly decreased now, because now in the afterlife or intermissive period, he has many other matters he would need to attend to, that would interest him or require his attention).

This perpetrator must either be skilled in martial arts or has special forces training, to be able to physically overwhelm an entire family of 4. Then again, the report mentioned "the son tried to hold his father back" (now why would the son do such a thing?), enabling the perpetrator to beat up both the son and the father, in addition to the young woman and her mother. Incredibly, the single perpetrator managed to beat the family entire family of 4 back to their flat to seek refuge. Even more incredibly, at this very moment, "the accused was in the midst of fleeing the scene when he suddenly turned back, went behind the young woman, and grabbed both her breasts."

[Singapore] - Board members do no work at all (just sit on the board, attend meetings, make votes), yet each board member collects well over over $100k+ per year. The lowly employees (eg. cleaners and bottom staff) are overworked and contribute more to the company, yet only get underpaid $10k+ per year. Life isn't fair, but this is just atrocious.
