On another forum, someone asked about "Any natural, non-toxic sleeping pill to recommend to help me sleep?", and I replied :
Magnesium deficiency causes sleeplessness and constipation (among a long list of other symptoms). And magnesium deficiency is common in Singapore (majority of Singaporeans suffer from it, and not even know they have it), because the typical Singaporean diet doesn't include sufficient dark green leafy vegetables (H2 Biology students would know that magnesium plays a central role in the synthesis and functioning of chlorophyll for photosynthesis).
Pop a couple of magnesium supplementary pills at night, it'll help you to sleep. But if you pop too many at one shot, you may kena diarrhea (which is of course what constipation sufferers are desperately hoping to experience when they buy magnesium pills). -

Totally welcome, AlienCouple. Magnesium supplements can be bought cheaply at any pharmacy (eg. NTUC, Watsons, Guardian, etc). Share this info and help others (both fellow Singaporeans and fellow netizens all across the world) who may be suffering from either sleeplessness or constipation, and help make their lives just a little (they would probably say, a lot!) better.
