On another forum, someone asked "Which is the best Anti-Virus software?"
Norton AntiVirus,
AVG AntiVirus Free Edition,
PC Tools AntiVirus Free Edition,
Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware,
Avira Antivirus,
Avast,
ESET NOD32 Antivirus,
Kaspersky AntiVirus,
McAfee AntiVirus.
I replied :
Problem is, anti-virus software alone is in no way sufficient these days. There are lots of other malware that aren't classified as viruses, that are even more damaging, and for which all of these anti-virus programs are mostly useless against.
Eg. Search Engine Redirects, Rootkits, Trojans, Backdoors, Worms, Adware, Spyware, Keyloggers, Hidden Programs, etc.
Go ahead and buy a good anti-virus software, but don't naively think an anti-virus program alone can secure your PC. If you begin to encounter problems that anti-virus programs can't solve, instead of futilely buying other anti-virus software, it's time to explore more advanced anti-malware software that handles more than just mere viruses (which ironically, due to their fame and notoriety, are now the least dangerous threat; the unknown enemies are the deadliest ones).
