Though in this case, the investment banker did a cowardly sucker punch on the guard/bouncer when he was looking in the other direction, so no amount of martial arts is gonna help that. You see, this is exactly what comes out of the misguided and racist bumiputra policies of Malaysia (eg. a Chinese can score all As for the A levels but still cannot get into local Med school, while a bumiputra can score all Bs for the A levels and still get into local Med school; consequent brain-drain for Malaysia).
When the Malays push the Chinese, the Chinese will push back : Alvin Tan (and his article) is an example of hate begetting hate, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Aren't you glad you live in farsighted LKY's Singapore, where enlightened government policies allow / encourage / enforce mutual respect and harmony between Chinese and Malays? Among all the countries in the world, Singapore and Malaysia could not be more different in this regard.
