Stacy Koltiska, a mother of three who worked in a cafeteria at an elementary school in Pennsylvania for three years, quit her job in September after being forced to deny a hot meal to a first grader (ie. primary one student) during the first week of school.
"I made him cry because I literally took away the fried chicken I had just served him and threw it in the trash since he couldn't pay up," she told AFP. "His little eyes welled up with tears and I'm like, 'I can't do this. This is ridiculous.'"
In her resignation letter, which made headlines, Koltiska said she could no longer "work for an institution that would withhold food and humiliate a child over $2.05."
"I mean how do you expect kids to go all day, focus, concentrate, do well in school for eight hours without being fed?" she told AFP. "We feed prisoners three times a day and we can't feed our children."

Akin to both sides in the Darwnism vs Creationism debate, both Bearing and Michael are somewhat limited in their understanding of this complex matter, but to give due credit, insofar as speaking from their perspectives getting their points across, they're both doing a fair job. Lest you accuse me of equivocating, consider why it is possible they can both be simultaneously (but in a limited fashion) correct : not so much a case of Schrodinger's cat, but more of a case of misaligned semantics (eg. sex vs gender, biology vs psychology), impassioned personal motivations, and finally also not bringing in the fuller picture (ie. considerations of the soul, going beyond the physical biological body and genetics).

[Medical] - Bullshit. If this was the case, why do different statins correlate with different risk levels of myopathies? As for more people complaining after being informed they were taking statins, this doesn't prove the "nocebo" effect, because it simply means they're more sensitive and acknowledging in identifying expectant symptoms, where otherwise they might tend to be unsure (if it's their imagination or a temporary flu), shrug it off and not report it.

This is what happens when the guys doing the fighting are not given the resources they said were required to do the mission. The Secretary of Defense had to resign after this battle as it was known that he refused the Ranger's request to have tanks, APCs, attack helicopter, and AC-130 gunship support for the Mogidishu operations, along with enough soldiers to be able to fully man a rescue / extraction force if needed. They would have had additional attack helicopters in the air to cover the blackhawks as they were unloading troops, the Humvee column would have been led by several APCs with mounted roadblock busting blades, and there would have been a backup force of APCs with a few tanks ready to launch extraction operations in case a helicopter was downed or the ground force became pinned down or immobilized.

EskrimaTiger commented : You do realize that after a sniper drops his target, that man's comrades usually respond with a shitload of return fire, maybe some mortars, then a really pissed off and jacked up fire team is sent to hunt down the snipers. Simply returning to their tent while smoking a cigarette is not a normal reaction.
