A Syrian man who defected and smuggled out photographs of Syrians tortured to death has exposed the alleged atrocities at the hand of the country’s Bashar al-Assad regime.
Although wanting to leave Syria, Caesar agreed to stay on to obtain proof of the torture to show people outside of the country, smuggling out nearly 55,000 photographs and until there was a fear he would get caught.
“So Caesar stayed for two and a half years from April 2011 to August 2013, working officially with the Assad government as a forensic photographer within the military police, taking pictures every single day of thousands of men, women, children, Muslims, Christians, Arabs, Kurds, all were being tortured to death in the most horrific ways."
“Eyes were gouged out (while conscious), acid was used, unbelievable types of torture, honestly when I first saw the photos, I could not sleep for weeks, it’s hard to imagine anyone could be so heartless, that anyone could be so inhumane,� Mouaz said.

This is yet another example of how the system is set up to benefit the rich and penalize the poor. The ultimate landlord (either REITS in some cases or the Sg Govt in other cases) through the bidding system, gets to enjoy maximum profits at the expense of the poor lao bai xing or man-in-the-street. The pasar malam operator or master tenant, desperate for business, puts in unsustainably high bids of several million dollars for 1 month use of the pasar malam, then rents out each stall at an average (some stalls kena higher than $20k monthly rent) of $17k monthly rent, payment upfront. Desperate to recoup their losses to break even, they buy cheaper ingredients resulting in lower quality food, plus they jack up prices. Over at Geylang Serai pasar malam a couple of days back, I bought a few items expecting the price to be below $10, but end up being told it was $16. Ever-increasing cost of living and inflation in Singapore is caused by ever-increasing rentals by the greedy landlords and REITs.

Polish ang moh woman "Karolina Goswami" is an expert in India cultures, customs, traditions and religions. In this video, she discusses the Caste system, and blames the British colonial invaders for the decline of the Indian civilization, including the discriminatory Caste system (which she reveals was created by the despicable British as a despicable method to exercise political control over the poor Indians), as well as why (as she laments) many Indians themselves don't correctly understand the Hindu religion. It's obvious from the video, that as a self-conceptualized Hindu expert, she's strongly pro-India and pro-Hindu (it's obvious she has a strong karmic connection with India and Hinduism, almost certainly having had past lives in India herself) and strongly anti-British (she repeatedly blames the evil British over and over again in the video). She does hit the nail on the head (indeed something I've been saying for a long time liao, whether it's India or Malaysia or Indonesia), in that the exploitative British colonial past aside, it is the current manipulative politicians in the country, who continue to exploit and propagate the unethical and damaging caste systems, out for their own selfish political agendas for gaining votes and power for themselves. So while the British started the fire, it is India's own manipulative politicians who continue to fan the fire for their own selfish agendas. And it is up to the common man-in-the-street, indeed it is a spiritual test for all the people (of all countries), to either heed their ethical conscience and make the effort to struggle to change their country's unethical traditions (eg. female genital manipulation for some communities) and unethical laws (eg. the unethical lese majeste law of Thailand, or racially discriminatory policies of Malaysia), or fail the spiritual test and continue to exploit such unethical traditions and laws for their own selfish political agendas.
All in all, this Polish woman's video is worth watching. She also shares about her personal life (she identifies as simultaneously a Christian and a Hindu) and her marriage to her Hindu husband, and describe how she kena discriminated by her Christian relatives and her Church in Poland for marrying an Indian Hindu man, but in contrast was warmly received without discrimination by her husband's Hindu community in India, who didn't care she was half-Christian. She may be a solitary voice trying to dispel Western ignorance about India, but you can support her cause by sharing her educational video with others.
