Singaporean woman rescued after kidnap in the Philippines
A Singaporean woman has been rescued by Filipino authorities after being kidnapped in the Philippines, said a report by The Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The woman, identified as Wu Yan, was at Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City where she was forcibly taken by three men and a woman. The kidnappers then beat and threatened her in a room in Bayview International Towers where they demanded US$180,000 (S$246,000) for her release.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Philippine National Police carried out an operation on Tuesday (18 July) to nab a group of 45 kidnappers, who were all foreign nationals.
In a statement on Wednesday (19 July), BI’s Fugitive Search Unit and the police’s Anti-Kidnapping Group said that there has been a series of kidnapping incidents in the last few months targeting tourists who are casino high-rollers, which the group of kidnappers is believed to be responsible for.
A total of 26 foreigners were rounded up in the initial operation, but they failed to present any immigration documents and refused to divulge their identities.
Out of the 26 arrested, Wu identified three of them as her kidnappers. They were Malaysian nationals Ng Yu Meng and Goh Kok Keong, and Chinese national Zhang Fuxing, who is allegedly the leader of the group.
Nineteen more foreigners who are believed to be a part of the group were arrested in a follow-up operation. All 45 of them were then brought to the headquarters of the police’s Anti-Kidnapping Group in Quezon City.

Yes what a waste I remembered meeting her when she was still a model and student. Almost 30 years ago. Even in a school uniform sans makeup she had a face that could light up a room. Really exuberated that X factor.

Ah Nonymus commented : This kind of conduct is normal for the Saudis. The Prince was foolish enough to get filmed, that's all. Lots of cruel and inhuman treatment and rapes taking place indoors against defenseless maids every single day; in contrast the Prince's abuse captured by the video is taking place outdoors against Saudi Arabian nationals, which is why the only reason why authorities are taking action.
