It's still better to err on the side of caution. Just because someone cries, "Fake news!", doesn't mean you should abandon rescue efforts, because regardless of whether the news was fake or not, others could still be trapped in the rubble and still need rescuing. It'll be a sadder day (than it is today with proliferation of fake news) if the moment someone cries "Fake news!", everyone abandons rescue or fund-raising efforts, believing in the (possibly) fake news that it was fake news.

It's not just Apple that's doing this.
Since each new phone or tablet released by Apple is basically just a fancier version of the last one, it could potentially be difficult for the company to get consumers to buy the newer devices. The solution? Planned obsolescence: “The policy of producing consumer goods that rapidly become obsolete and so require replacing, achieved by frequent changes in design, termination of the supply of spare parts, and the use of non-durable materials� (Oxford Dictionary).
The idea behind planned obsolescence is that manufacturers build a certain lifetime into a product, after which it will simply stop working, forcing consumers to buy replacement items. To be honest, if Apple was doing this, it would be a pretty smart business move. They launch new products periodically, and all of them are really just slightly fancier versions of their older models. People don’t often need these products, they simply want them. They only become a “need� when their older models break or malfunction.
So, a clever business move, albeit an entirely unethical and devious one that would leave a bitter taste in the mouths of most Apple product fans.

Great for her that she could capitalize on her personal tragedy to make a living, and possibly a lucrative one at that (if she gets enough sponsors and advertisers). Most people whose arms get amputated fall into depression and financial ruin, becoming a psychological and financial burden to their family. So, great for her. She fully deserves her internet social media success for her tremendous strength in overcoming a personal tragedy and even turning it profitable for herself.

[Singapore] - Steven Lim’s Muay Thai opponent dies hours after bout
Although Pradip seemed in better shape than Lim, he took several blows to the head during the match. The referee stopped the bout during the second round after Pradip was knocked down, and ended the match. Lim was awarded the victory by technical knockout.
“We are deeply saddened to share the news that Mr. Pradip Subramanian, Exhibition Match-Up fighter and President of the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation of Singapore (WBPF) has passed away at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) on 23rd September 2017 at 21:00 hrs.

While many Singaporeans love to armchair assign blame, the fact is, it's neither Steven Lim's nor Pradip Subramanian's fault. This was a tragic accident. Anyone with any medical common sense would know that there's always a risk that *anyone*, whether a professional MMA champion, a Special Forces military operative, or a normal civilian, *could* die from a blow to the head, let alone repeated blows to the head (which is why trained martial artists know the importance of blocking or dodging blows to the head). Medically speaking, there are many possible potentially fatal consequences to head trauma, such as acute subdural hematoma.
