China's CCTV Lunar New Year TV Gala Showcase 'Racist Blackface' African Sketch, which although wasn't intended to be racially offensive (watch the sketch for yourself), has already drawn offence from billions of people online (not just Africans or black people, but also social justice warriors from all races worldwide), because the China performance involved a Chinese woman in painted blackface (with fake fats padding the body, including exaggeratedly huge buttocks and breasts) pretending to be an African woman to declare ‘I love China’, while an actual African black person portrayed the woman's pet monkey.
The backlash against China (and unfortunately, all Chinese in general as well, eg. online hate messages against all Chinese people) will be far more severe than when Donald Trump described African countries as "shithole countries".
Personal comments : The performance is actually not almost as racist as it sounds, because dozens of actual African black people were performing in the play as well, and they do appear to be enjoying themselves, performing their African music & dance. The scriptwriters simply needed a veteran China actress in blackface as she was the main talent (and of course, fluent in Mandarin) for the play and thus given a major role as the African black mother. Furthermore, as some YouTubers pointed out to give a balanced perspective, it was the white people of America and Europe, and not China, who enslaved the African black people for centuries. And some high EQ African YouTubers pointed out, "Personally as an African black person, I don't find the play offensive."
The Daily Mail, quoting local newspaper De Telegraaf, reports that a Transavia Airlines flight made the unscheduled stop in Austria after two Dutch men objected to a flatulent co-passenger. Despite their pleas and complaints to the plane's crew, the man reportedly continued to fart. It's unclear whether the passenger had a medical condition that caused the flatulence. When he allegedly refused to stop, a fight broke out.
That's when the pilot decided to land in Vienna, reporting "passengers on the rampage." Austrian police entered the cabin on landing and escorted four passengers off the plane.
A 21-year-old female passenger said a friend was “subjected to a large violent outburst by the group after he accidentally brushed past a member of the family.
“He was essentially thrown to the ground, it was completely unprovoked," she told The Age. “They had him by the neck and they were punching and kicking him for a long time.
Another passenger, Kellie Peterson, said the group were “looking for trouble from the minute they got on the ship.
“My husband told them to take it (ie. their violent troublemaking) away, because there’s kids here, and five of them immediately surrounded my husband to intimidate him, she said.
