See? This is what vicious politics do to people. HongKongers attacking HongKongers. Whether you're pro-democracy or pro-China, you still love your country and your fellow citizens. But because of politicizing, citizens now viciously attack citizens out of a tragic misguided misunderstanding. It occurs to some extent here in Singapore, but naturally (and thankfully) nowhere as vehement, vicious and violent compared to USA and HongKong. Put yourself in Nathan Law's shoes. You work so hard and selflessly because you love your country and your fellow citizens. But instead of appreciating it, many fellow citizens now beat you up and openly curse you to die a terrible death. He must be feeling really sad, unappreciated and disillusioned now. And he represents many others, not just in HongKong, but around the world.

Mixon entered an Alford plea to a misdemeanor assault charge in October 2014 for punching a woman named Amelia Molitor in the head, causing broken bones in her face which required hospitalization and surgery. The incident happened on July 25, 2014 at Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe in Norman, on Campus Corner.
According to Molitor, Mixon and some of his teammates were harassing Molitor and her friend because the friend is gay. Mixon then followed Molitor and her friend into the shop. The surveillance video of the incident showed Mixon and Molitor having a verbal argument, which was followed by Molitor pushing Mixon, him lunging at her, her slapping him, and him punching her. The punch caused her face to slam into a table. Mixon later told police that Molitor's friend had directed a racial slur at him and that he responded with an anti-gay slur at the friend.
Mixon received a one-year deferred sentence and was required to perform 100 hours of community service and undergo counseling. Molitor filed suit in federal court against Mixon on July 22, 2016. She accused Mixon of negligence, willful and wanton misconduct, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Niu Ziru, a grade four student at the Best International School in Zhengzhou, wrote the letter as part of a writing contest. Never intended to be sent to President Xi, Ziru’s father thought the letter was amusing enough to share on the WeChat social networking platform.
The letter talks about the international space race to get to Mars, and urges President Xi to choose the red planet over the moon as a destination for a space expedition. However, Ziru then changes the subject and makes an appeal to President Xi to lose weight.
“Uncle Xi, you could lose some weight. [You] don’t have to look as slim as [US President Barack] Obama. It’s all right to look like [Russian President Vladimir] Putin,� the letter wrote.
The Zhengzhou Evening News picked up on the story after it spread on WeChat, and the story begun running nationally until state censors shut it down.
The Chinese media are quite enamored with any personal Xi Jinping news. Not long after Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin put a coat on the shoulders of Xi’s wife, Peng Liyuan, President Xi was subsequently photographed helping Peng walk through a door on a ship.
Furthermore, the marriage between Xi and Peng was celebrated as an ideal model in a music video called "Daddy Xi Loves Mummy Peng" that received 20 million hits within its first five days online.

“Mate deprivation� (including psychologically, sociologically, culturally induced) is unfortunately a misguided characteristic of many religions, cultures and institutions. There's a strong correlation between "mate deprivation" (in any form) and sexually deviant behavior including rate of sexual crimes, across countries. Taking a vow of celibacy, whether as a priest, monk or nun, etc is actually psychologically-sexually unbalanced and unhealthy. Same goes for same sex schools (no offence to LGBTs, but there's a correlation with a higher incidence of students turning gay or lesbo in same sex schools, due to "mate deprivation"), and to a lesser extent, the military (which is by necessity, and the gender imbalance ratio is less severe). But it's a personal choice, and we respect free will, so long as the free will of others are not infringed upon. But unfortunately, societal religious pressure does blur this line rather a bit, for some countries and societies.

Every day or so, Taiwan, Japan and/or South Korea are "scrambling jets" in response to ever increasingly aggressive China military exercises in the region. Sooner or later, there's gonna be an accident resulting in the inadvertent escalation of tensions, increasing the risk of war. Especially problematic when you consider the USA (with loose canon Trump at the wheel) have contractual obligations to defend Taiwan, Japan and South Korea in the event of a military conflict with any of the 3, let alone all 3 of them.
