Note the number of separate & independent 'bad guys' or characters involved in illegal activities in the movie plot : apart from the China government (the entire mess started because Jamie Chung's character wrote an article on Tibet), there are at least 4 : international human smuggler Sister Chen, illegal money-transferring Mr Leung, illegal loan-sharking Mr Lin, and corrupt NYPD cop Bobby Monday (General Zod from Superman).
On a related note, related by actress Jamie Chung, is a rape which occurred on the set of "Real World", a reality TV show, in which the rapist got away scot-free, despite everyone knowing about the rape.

The 'recent studies' quoted in the article only vindicates what I've already always known. However, one correction I must make to the article : since morality is an illusion or delusion, replace "morals / morality" with "ethics / ethicality" and we're good to go. Also, one's ethical choices, intentions and identity, is completely under one's own free will and control, the power afforded by the situation merely gives one the opportunity to practice this free will and make choices along ethical or unethical lines. So it's not so much that power corrupts, but more accurately that power affords one the opportunity to self-corrupt, if one so chooses. And so (under all circumstances and contexts with varying degrees of power) it is always within your free will and choice, to develop or regress, evolve or devolve, your (physically incarnate) ethical identity, which (permanently) contributes to your soul's ethical identity, building on the progress (or anti-progress) across lifetimes. Which alludes to one important aspect of physical incarnation and reincarnation, the opportunity for a 2nd chance, to choose again, to choose more wisely and ethically this time round, to make amends, to 'balance' unethical or unhelpful karma, choices and consequences, to learn, to grow, to evolve.
