This song by The Bee Gees, every teenage girls and boys would dance on the floor during the house parties in the 70s. That was how young girls and boys met and fell in love. Many of them got married too and are still married until now. This song was normally played for slow dance, usually at the end of the house party and late in the night or early morning past midnight.

Wow! Yeah! Besides Michael Jackson's music, I remember Boney M. Usually his music were played in the parties. We had many parties held in HDB flats in the 70s and 80s but there were no complains from the HDB residences though the music were loud and all the party goers were dancing throughout the night. Unlike now, a little bit of noise like Karaoke in the early evening, people will complain to the Police. Alamak! What to do! Sighs!

Last night while standing in my frontyard and gazing the sparkling stars high above the night sky, without any apparent reason a tune came to my mind with these words, "The first time when I saw your face." Today, I've decided to post this song here.

And again last night too, in my dream I heard someone mentioned to me "Simon Paul" and this morning when I woke up I clearly remembered that name. I was trying to make sense what I heard in my dream so I google but nothing special. Yes, there is a website call "Simon Paul" but it has no impact to what I dreamt last night. The only person I know with that Simon Paul name is Paul Simon a global famous singer. Well, last night was quite strange night for me so I thought I just post here Paul Simon music.

Yes. I remember clearly. Those of you who are in your 50s and 60s now will remember the 70s, the yesteryear. Yes. Those were the days we all grew up rugged and independent. We were ambitious and hopeful. And now in our 50s, for me now, I'm a simple man now.

Ok. Lets see now. Is it possible for Singaporean young generation now to hold house parties in their HDB flats like those days in the 70s and 80s? When I mean house parties here is having F&B and dancing to celebrate Birthdays or whatever during the holidays, to mingle and socialize.
The way I see it, yes! And it's not expensive if compared to when you go clubbing etcs. All you need to do is to have a venue. The host can either sponsor for all the expenses or get some contributions from his or her friends. And of course, you need to seek permission from your parents. If they say, "No!", then you ask them (if they are in their 40s and 50s), "Why not? You attended house parties in the 70s and 80s to socialize, mingle, dance and have fun!." And your house party should be held on Saturday evening, around 6.30pm and end before midnight or after midnight. This house party is where all the young people regardless whether you are poor, average or rich, meetup and have fun. Invite your neighbours' kids too so hopefully no complains from them haha.
You don't need a DJ to host your house parties. The host and his or her friends must be out going to start that dance.
If you live in a 3 room HDB flat, you can still hold that house party. Clear your living room for that dance floor and place those sofas and chairs outside in the common corridors for your guests to sit too.
Well, think about it. Throw down that mobile phones and PC; and start to socialize, dance and enjoy yourselves! It will be fun. It's better and more productive than those dating events organized by the private match making agencies and the Government.
Yeap. These were the music we in our 40s, 50s and 60s now danced to during the house parties in the 70s and 80s in the HBD flats, private condos and landed properties. Listen to them and start dancing haha.
