Pique relishes Real chanceGerard Pique is relishing the opportunity to gain first-team experience with Real Zaragoza after completing a year-long loan deal with the La Liga club.Pique had reportedly been tracked by several Spanish clubs and Premiership sides Aston Villa and Charlton. But he is happy with his decision to join Zaragoza.
Pablo Aimar, Andres D`Alessandro, Juanfran and Sergio Fernandez have all joined the club this summer, and former Barcelona defender Pique is excited by the move.
"Just by looking at the quality of the signings, you can see the level we are talking about," he told the club's website. "It`s a beautiful city and I hope it will be a fantastic year."
Asked why he had chosen Zaragoza, Pique said: "Because there was a constant interest. They contacted me and my agent and I think I have taken the right decision."
Pique, 19, made seven senior appearances for United last season, including a highly impressive 90 minutes at right-back against West Ham. He has won seven Reserves trophies in two years and last weekend helped Spain to clinch the European Under-19
