Fulham defender Moritz Volz says the Cottagers are relishing their trip to Old Trafford on Sunday, insisting they have nothing to lose.
Chris Coleman's side arrive in Manchester on the back of just one win from their last nineteen away trips last season.
Volz is the first admit that United are odds-on favourites to kick-off the 2006/07 campaign with victory, but he reckons the heavy expectation level on the Reds could work in Fulham's favour.
"TheyÂ’ll be favourites and under huge pressure to win," Volz told United Review. "But that's something we can hopefully make use of. WeÂ’ve just got to be confident, fresh and positive.
"The way I see it, youÂ’ve got to play each team twice so we might as well get one of the toughest ones out of the way early," added the German.
"United did really well towards the end of last season. They may not have signed a stack of players this summer, but theyÂ’re looking to get a few players back from long injuries who can almost be considered as new signings really."
"Nevertheless, we know from a couple of years ago that it is possible to win up there. And if we do it could set us up for the perfect start to the season."
