Children across the globe could benefit from United's form thanks the launch of the
AIG ‘Goals for Kids’ Initiative.
For every goal the Reds score this season, AIG will donate £1000. The beneficiaries will be UNICEF, as well as children’s charities across the UK and Ireland.
In the future, AIG hopes to implement similar programmes in other countries around the world.
United chief executive David Gill believes the initiative will prove to be a great success.
"The combination of our 75million fans worldwide and AIGÂ’s extensive global network means we will have no shortage of support for the childrenÂ’s charities benefiting from the goalscoring efforts of the team," he said.
"We commend AIG on this initiative and we are certain the goals will flow."
Martin J. Sullivan, President and Chief Executive Officer of AIG," added: "AIG is proud to support childrenÂ’s charities through the 'AIG Goals for Kids' programme with Manchester United.
"It will help underprivileged children and bring attention to worthy charities through our association with one of the world’s most famous sports teams.”
