Out of the blue this report came out... Dunno true or not?
Press speculation in Italy is linking Manchester United with a renewed bid for Juventus striker David Trezeguet.
Reports claim the French striker's agents have met with officials from the Premiership club to discuss a possible move to Old Trafford.
United are still on the lookout for a striker to replace Ruud van Nistelrooy, who joined Real Madrid earlier in the summer.
However, with just four days to go before the transfer window closes, Sir Alex Ferguson was thought to have turned his attentions to bringing another midfielder to the club.
Trezeguet has been constantly linked with a move away from Juventus during the summer following their relegation to Serie B because of their part in the match-fixing scandal.
But the 28-year-old was expected to remain at the Stadio Delle Alpi after insisting he was happy at the club.
French champions Lyon are another side ready to make a fresh bid for the French striker.
The Ligue 1 outfit have money to spend after the sale of Mahamadou Diarra to Real Madrid and are thought to be readying an increased bid for Trezeguet.
Meanwhile, Trezeguet will miss Sunday's Coppa Italia match against Napoli because of injury. -

And be coming back to MF, to collect the ball, and then run, he is already dragging a MF and CDef out of place, and that's opens up the center.

True, but its also important to have addition back-up in case of injuries to Rooney & Saha and also an additional striker in the box if they are down by one... btw, how old is this Trezeguet? and how much will he costs?
I rather MUFC go for someone younger, fiercer and more ambitious.

Ronaldo is a good winger, he can beat players with his run so to use him upfront would be a waste of his talent. Just like Rooney, who can run and beat players with the ball too... But they are not out and out strikers so may still need one in the box finisher, just in case... -

David Trezeguet's Dad and agent, Jorge, is reportedly in Manchester today.
Juventus striker Trezeguet was linked with a move to Manchester United in the French press over the weekend and it's emerged in the Italian media this morning that Jorge Snr is in England for talks with the Premiership giants.
Trezeguet didn't play in Juve's Coppa Italia defeat to Napoli yesterday and along with United, is also in the sights of AC Milan and French giants Olympique Lyon.

MANCHESTER UNITED have made a beat-the-deadline £10million bid to buy David Trezeguet from Juventus.
The French international striker wants a move following the Turin sideÂ’s enforced relegation to the Italian Serie B after the match-fixing scandal.
Yesterday Trezeguet’s father — who also acts as his agent — met with Red Devils officials about a possible move before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
Juve president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has privately admitted that United have made a bid for the 28-year-old player.
That is believed to be in the region of £10million, although Juve are said to be demanding £17m.
Old Trafford boss Alex Ferguson has insisted he does not need a striker to replace Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy.
But he has long been an admirer of Trezeguet.
The Frenchman had a disappointing World Cup and missed the vital spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out with Italy in the final.
But his past scoring record is impressive.
Last season, he hit 23 goals in 32 Serie A games and six in nine Champions League matches.
He was left out of JuveÂ’s team on Sunday night as they crashed out of the Coppa Italia to Napoli on penalties.
The sticking point could be JuveÂ’s latest appeal against their relegation, which is due to be heard today.
If they are reinstated to Serie A, they will want to hold on to Trezeguet. -
