I don't think he will come in Jan. by then, he is cup-tied and can't play in UCL if MUFC were to progress (a big If).
I believe someone in BM must have told him to pipe down and perhaps if Von Bommel can do well, then BM will sell to MUFC...

No. The difference is Hargreaves is professional enough to know not push the limits of his case. He is biding his time. There's still the Bosman ruling exit if he is patient. Also you must understand BM is only paying him $18,000 per week whereas Man u are willing to pay him 40 to 50 thousand per week.
Wouldn't you want to go too if someone offer you a higher profile post at a bigger company and a salary increment of almost 3x your current pay?
Its only logical that he wants to go back to his home country. -
