Edwin van der Sar had to be on his toes on Saturday as United achieved their best-ever start to a Premiership season.
Holland's number one was busier than his English counterpart playing for Spurs, Paul Robinson, but he still managed to keep a clean sheet - a feat made all the more satisfying by Ryan Giggs' early goal.
"There were a few 0-0 draws here last season, so it's important not just to keep clean sheets but also to score at least one," Edwin told MUTV after the match.
"For your own comfort, it's always nice to get a second goal. It's a relief for the back four. They (Tottenham) created a couple of opportunties at the end but we stood firm."
Edwin's interventions were important in a match of relatively few clear-cut chances.
"I think the double one in the first half was important, when Dawson came through and then I'm not sure who hit the second one (King). Then there was the deflected cross (by Chimbonda) in the second half - luckily I'm six foot six so I was able to turn it over!"
The Dutchman hopes United can also turn over Celtic in midweek and then Arsenal next Sunday as the Reds go for a maximum 15 Premiership points from the first five matches.
"It's good to know (about United's best Premiership start) but I don't think we're ready yet," he said. "We want to stretch this run much further and I think we're capable of doing that."
