Dutch legend Ruud Gullit says United striker Louis Saha can become one of United's 'greatest strikers'.
The French forward, who has taken over from prolific finisher Ruud van Nistelrooy as United's main striker, scored twice as the Reds ran out 3-2 winners against Celtic at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old admitted he should have scored a hat-trick on his first start in the Champions League start since 2004, but his goals helped put United top of Group F after the opening round of games.
Gullit took Saha to Newcastle on loan from Metz during his time as manager on Tyneside. And the legendary Oranje star says the 28-year-old has come on in leaps and bounds since his spell with the Magpies.
"He was a great prospect at the time," Gullit told Sky Sports. "But it is incredible how much he has developed at United. He plays for the national team with the likes of Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet and that tells you about his quality.
"He has the ability to become one of the greatest strikers for United," he added. "He's still improving, but he's much more mature now. And I think that is down to Alex Ferguson, who has helped him improve a lot."
