United's Under-18s earned their second victory in as many weeks with a 4-2 win over Huddersfield on Saturday.
The young Reds scored three goals in the last 15 minutes to secure the three points in the Premier Academy League fixture at Carrington.
Midfielder Sam Hewson put Paul McGuinness' side in front after six minutes from the penalty spot. Huddersfield equalised before the break and then took the lead midway through the second half. It left United going into the last 20 minutes needing to pull something special out of the bag to earn their second win this season.
The response was some effort, but the Reds youngsters achieved it. Fabian Brandy struck on 74 minutes to haul United back level. Then a goal after 86 minutes from Michael Lea gave the home side the lead, with Danny Welbeck making sure in injury time.
The Reds had started the season with a draw and two defeats, but two wins on the bounce means McGuinness' young Academy side is in form and full of confidence.
