The transfer window has only been closed a matter of weeks, but already United are being linked with a host of new signings.
Spanish striker Fernando Torres is set to sign a new deal with Atletico Madrid, but with the alleged condition that his buy-out clause is significantly lowered.
The People expect United to take full advantage of this with a move in either the January window or next summer, with Torres supposedly keen on the transfer.
It was widely expected that Sir Alex Ferguson would test Bayern Munich's resolve to keep Owen Hargreaves in January, but a broken leg may have scuppered those plans.
The England anchorman will miss at least six weeks of action and may put United's interest on ice until he has fully recovered. -

Atletico ace Torres: Real Madrid candidates came knocking

Atletico Madrid captain Fernando Torres has assured fans he won't be leaving the club after his buyout clause was reduced as part of his new contract signed this week.
At the signing ceremony yesterday, Torres said: "It's a symbolic gesture. It shows that the club is confident I want to be here and I can show that I'm not here against my will.
"In the end, the only thing that matters is the word of the club and of myself."
Torres also revealed: "It's true that several candidates for the Real Madrid presidency contacted me over the summer. But the club that wants to sign me must first speak with Atletico.
"We listened to everybody, but nothing was negotiated. It's true they came, but nothing was discussed."
