Gerard Pique made his La Liga debut for Real Zaragoza on Sunday and enjoyed the experience - apart from the result.
The 19-year-old defender, who joined United in summer 2004 from Barcelona, is on a season-long loan at La Romareda.
He was given his first chance to shine alongside Gaby Milito at the heart of the Zaragoza's defence. He scored a late goal, but was disappointed to end up on the losing team as Villarreal claimed a 3-2 victory.
"I am happy with my performance and the goal I scored," he said. "But I would have liked to have won because that is most important. The three points were there to take from Villarreal and you feel bitter to lose the game."
The young centre-back revealed how he approached the game like it was any other, to help him overcome the pressure of making his debut.
"I took my debut as just another game," he added. "If you think too much about it I believe that it pressures you too much and for that reason I came up with the idea that it was just another encounter."

Yay! Another gem in defence who can score goals. Hopefully Gary Neville would retire this season.
Cheers. C.K

you are wrong..
I would want GVN to play as long as he can.
one thing, he gives leadership. second, his overlapping runs. third, he got a good rapport with the team (he got backbone to stand up to FA for Rio).
to me, yes, not a lot of supporters like him esp Gunner's fan. but it simply means he is doing great.
