Seven Reds in England squad!

  Seven United players have been named in Steve McClaren's England squad for October's Euro 2008 qualifiers against Macedonia and Croatia.
  
  Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney return after missing McClaren's first two games through injury and suspension respectively.
  
  They are joined by Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown, Michael Carrick, Kieran Richardson and Ben Foster in the 24-man party.
  
  Reds midfielder Carrick is expected to be rivalled by Newcastle's Scott Parker in the race to replace injury victim Owen Hargreaves in the starting line-up.
  
  The midfielder's cause has been championed by United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz, who has been delighted by his form since joining United from Tottenham.
  
  "From my perspective Michael is doing well," he said. "His adaptation process is in good progression.
  
  "My opinion, and our opinion at the club is that heÂ’s doing fantastically. I donÂ’t see any reasons why he wouldnÂ’t play, but itÂ’s Steve McClarenÂ’s decision."

  richardson and foster, just because they're in man utd.. i dont see them having enough quality to play for england yet.

  Man U and Chelsea each have 1/3 the England team. To the big clubs in Europe, they are mostly over price and under perform. I think the problem is with England Manager, he is giving SAF and JM too much face. I see that there are many English players all over the EPL, don't see why he can't find any good players from there????

  most of the english managers, tend to choose from the big4.. thats sad really.

  Yea Richardson and Foster? Cmon man wth.. But maybe because McClaren had experienced with these players when he was with Man U?

  I think Foster deserved the place as i don't see any good English Goalkeeper playing in the Premiership:
  
  Arsenal: An eccentric German Keeper, Lehmann
  Aston Villa: Sorensen is from Denmark
  Blackburn: Friedel's American
  Bolton: Jussi Jaaskelainen hails from Finland
  Chelsea: Cech is from Czech
  Charlton: Carson is Under-21 i think
  Everton: USA's Howard
  Fulham: Niemi is from Finland
  Liverpool: Pepe Reina is a Spainiard
  Manchester City: Weaver is not the top-class keeper as before
  Manchester United: van der Sar is a Dutch
  Newcastle: Given's an Irishman
  Portsmouth: James is getting old
  Reading: Hahnemann is also from America
  Sheffield United: Kenny is injured
  Tottenham: England's Number 1, Robinson
  Watford: Foster, Yay!
  West Ham: Carroll is from Northern Ireland
  Wigan: England's 2nd choice keeper
  
  As for Richardson, i think because MacClaren wants a speedy winger and he fits the bill.
