Louis Saha is revelling in the role as UnitedÂ’s main man up front , insisting that he feels no extra pressure to get goals.
The French forward has come into his own this season taking over from Ruud van NistelrooyÂ’s role as the premiere striker in UnitedÂ’s ranks. His five goals in eight games this season have proved he can score regularly in the Premiership and in Europe.
But the laid-back 28-year-old says there is no hidden secret, he is just playing his usual game.
"I feel no different and I am not doing anything differently than what I have done before," said Saha. "Every player has to score goals, not just me. The only difference is I am the one playing up front, so I get more opportunities. I just need to be ready to take them."
His winning goal against Benfica showed he is a striker capable of making the crucial difference in important matches.
"In Europe now, you have to be patient," said Saha. "ItÂ’s far more tactical than the Premiership and you have to recognise, in away games especially, you are not going to get many chances.
"As a striker, it can get frustrating but you just have to maintain your concentration and be prepared."
