The winger, with 54 international caps to his name, has been the most iconic figure in the Welsh line-up for the past decade and last won the award ten years ago.
Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs has been crowned Wales' Player of the Year for the second time at an awards ceremony at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
Although he has been criticised in the past for missing a range of friendly ties, the 32-year-old has been a consistent figure in the team since being named captain by John Toshack.
Now his form over the past year has been recognised with the accolade, although Giggs will not be able to celebrate on the pitch having been ruled out of the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Slovakia and Cyprus due to a hamstring injury.
During the ceremony at the Millennium Stadium, where Giggs succeeded Danny Gabbidon in winning the senior award, Derby County's Lewin Nyatanga was named Young Player of the Year.
