quite agreed that Smith will not be able to hold down a 1st 11 place as far as striker dept is concern but guess SAF was trying to convert him into Roy Keane kinda player.. super unforgiving, tireless and willing to die for Man Utd on the field.. but guess he is not up to the task thou.. SAF have beed getting quite a couple of crappy players over the recent years but sure hope he is able to make good during the next transfer window..Originally posted by lpx88:Exactly.It's like the purchase of Smith. When Utd bought Smith it's obvious that despite being a key member of leeds united he will only be in the Man Utd first11 on a rotation basis
well, when smith came, he was the one who was putting the goals in the back of the net. do rem that.Originally posted by suckthumb.com:quite agreed that Smith will not be able to hold down a 1st 11 place as far as striker dept is concern but guess SAF was trying to convert him into Roy Keane kinda player.. super unforgiving, tireless and willing to die for Man Utd on the field.. but guess he is not up to the task thou.. yup..remembered that he did score quite a couple of goals during the start of the season..which season i can't remember but put it this way.. (without saying who can do what the other can't) if for you to choose, would you want to have Smith or RVN as your front man going into an important game?Originally posted by iceFatboy:well, when smith came, he was the one who was putting the goals in the back of the net. do rem that.
Bent to me, is like a frog in a well, unless he comes to bigger clubs, play with better quality players, we can't really scope his potentials. and he is only 22, I would expect bigger things for him if he comes to MUFC. Rem, he is a 20 goals scorer in EPL.
frankly, I believe we need a team player. someone who is committed and most importantly can work with the gaffer.Originally posted by suckthumb.com:yup..remembered that he did score quite a couple of goals during the start of the season..which season i can't remember but put it this way.. agreed that Bent might have lots of potential yet to be uncovered but my take is that SAF might not have the time to see him mature into someone special and since he is supposed on his last couple of season (IMO) and the fact that Man Utd does have a pretty decent chance of taking away the league champion title from Chelsea, he will need someone even more proven then what Bent is..
