Sir Alex Ferguson saw United's win at Middlesbrough as a 'significant result' in the Premiership title race, but warned his players about the perils of profligacy.
Gaffer told MUTV: "We should have had five or six. That's happened quite a few times away from home and, although our form has been fantastic, we still can't flirt with the missing of chances all the time.
"I'm delighted," he said. "It's not an easy place to come to as we've experienced some times in the past. The crowd put the referee under pressure all the time and it was a good result for us."
"We've been to difficult places like Bolton, Blackburn, Reading and Middlesbrough today isn't an easy place to come. I think we can look upon it as a significant result."
