Starlet Lee Martin has returned to Manchester United after ending his loan spell at Rangers.
The 19-year-old winger moved to Ibrox in the summer with team-mate Phil Bardsley and impressed in his first games under boss Paul Le Guen.
But Rangers have struggled this season, falling well behind leaders Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premier League crown.
Injury also hampered Martin's (pictured) progress and he has now returned to Old Trafford after just five starts for The Light Blues.
Wigan Athletic and Cardiff City are now thought to be keen on a move for the player for the second half of the season, although Sir Alex Ferguson is yet to decide his fate.
Gers midfielder Gavin Rae could meanwhile, also be heading out of Ibrox ahead of his contract expiring in the summer.
Rae has been plagued by knee injuries since leaving Dundee at the start of 2004, and he now seems set to move in the January transfer window.
"I have not been involved much this season and if I am not going to play in the second half of the campaign then it might be better to move on," Rae told Rangers TV.
