Hargreaves worth a gamble - Fergie

England midfielder Hargreaves is United's number one New Year transfer target, despite being sidelined by the broken leg he suffered in September.
Hargreaves is expected to be out of action for another six weeks but according to the Sunday Mirror, Ferguson is ready to double the original offer which United made in the summer.
Although the deal would hang on the England international passing a medical, Ferguson indicated on Saturday night that he did not regard his slow recovery as a major obstacle.
He said: "The broken leg issue is there with Hargreaves but you can still sign a player if he comes through a medical.
"We will have to wait and see what happend. Other than that, I can't sau anything more because I don't want to upset those poor Germans again."
However the German giants are ready to make an audacious bid to include Gabriel Heinze as part of the deal.
Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Real Madrid are all reportedly interested in signing the Argentine but Bayern are in the best position to use his apparent availability to their advantage. -
Hargy is fit for United switch
OWEN HARGREAVES has told Manchester United he is just a fortnight away from being match fit again.
The Bayern Munich star, who broke a leg in September, revealed to SunSport: “My recovery is going perfectly.
"I had a really tough week of training before the winter break in Germany.
"All I need now is two or three more sessions before I will be back practising with the team when they return on Friday and then able to play in matches.”
That news has alerted Alex Ferguson to step up his bid to sign the England midfielder during the transfer window and United expect to have a £15million deal wrapped up by the end of next week.
Hargreaves, 25, has made his intention to join United clear to the Germans and officials from the two clubs have met twice in the last three weeks.
The only remaining obstacle to the deal going through was HargreavesÂ’ passing a medical. But the playerÂ’s confirmation of his fitness will clear that hurdle. -

that's the big question mark that MUFC will have to absorb if they want to bid for him...
but I don't think will suffer a lot as he doesn't rely on speed but more brainy so he should do fine. -
