MANCHESTER UNITED have offered Bayern Munich £20m for England star Owen Hargreaves. Hargreaves said: “It has been made official today that United have made an offer for me and to do that is something I appreciate.”
Midfielder Hargreaves, 26 today, added: “United have developed into such a talented team.
“They have such a great nucleus when you look at Rio Ferdinand and Wazza Rooney, while Cristiano Ronaldo is probably one of the best in Europe.”
United, whose initial £15m bid was rejected with Bayern wanting £25m are keen to sign Hargreaves now.
But the Germans are set on keeping him until the summer.
The player said: “That’s down to the clubs to decide.”
Hargreaves has just returned to training after breaking a leg in September.
The Bundesliga season restarts next week and he admitted: “The most important thing for me now is to come back healthy and playing strong.”
