Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed he is not interested in another coaching challenge beyond Manchester United. Speaking at a press conference in Budapest after giving a lecture for more than 100 coaches, Ferguson admitted he could not even be tempted by the Scotland job. "I'm too tired for this, I don't want to sit on another bench - not a club or national team," Ferguson said.
Ferguson is currently in the middle of trying to guide United to the Premiership title for the ninth time. With Chelsea a major force in world football, success this season will rank high in Ferguson's list of achievements, but the Scot insists there is still plenty of work to do.
"We are leading by six points, but it is not the final situation," he said. "Both teams have tough games ahead, but it's true, for the first time in three years we're favourites to win the trophy."
Ferguson has called for the introduction of a winter break in England, and believes it would not only be beneficial to club teams. "There have been negotiations about a winter break in the Premiership and I think it should happen soon. Players are under pressure to play from August until May, non-stop.
"They have only week to rest before big tournaments, like last year in Germany. Believe me, if the World Cup was in May then England would win. The players are in top form at that time."
Meanwhile, Ferguson is confident the glory days for Scotland and Hungary will return for both nations soon after falling behind in recent years. He added: "My homeland Scotland and Hungary's football have had hard times lately, but I'm sure both teams have the passion to get through this dead point.
"Last year lots of Scottish talent appeared and it makes me optimistic. I know in Hungary everyone has the desire to improve their football too and it should bring results."
