Man Utd set to launch Bale raid

MANCHESTER UNITED are set to make a second bid to land Gareth Bale before WednesdayÂ’s deadline.
United want to buy the whizkid and loan him back to Southampton until the end of the season. Reds coaches Mike Phelan and Carlos Queiroz watched Bale as Southampton lost 3-1 at Manchester City in the FA Cup yesterday.
United have offered £8million but that has been topped by Tottenham’s £10m bid. Now the Premiership leaders hope their offer plus the lure of Old Trafford will clinch the signing of one of the country’s top young talents.
Saints boss George Burley yesterday insisted left-back Bale, 17, would be with them until the end of the season. But he refused to say whether he would be bought and loaned back.
Burley said: “Gareth will be at the club until the end of the season — and hopefully one more season. “This cup game was good experience for the boy. He is 17 and this was a big game.” -
Sign him please.
United are short of talented and young stars now. Players like Giggs, Scholes and Neville had to be replaced sooner or later so why not start planning now by signing Bale?

I think MUFC's inability to put down so much cash may led them to losing this kid.
Track records do shows only Gunners and MUFC are better (note this word) at nurturing young players...
But I think Bale has made his mind, now it is just the $$$ game.
MUFC offers to buy and loan till next season could be a good deal.. -
