maybe this is retribution for Lille for breaking Giggs' checkbone seriously last season... For what they did to Giggs, he presented a present back for them...
No matter what, after reading so much report, I just hope that Man Utd can hold on to this lead during the second leg, as Lille must be damn fustrated about this incident. -
Aiya... don't be upset lah people... just keep this purely to discussion purpose, do not flame anyone k... For those who thinks that anyone here speaking up is bias to man u, I suggest you catch the First Edition later at 2:30 am or tomorrow at 7:30 am or if you can't make it... there is also another at 2pm... Over there they have professional and unbias pundits commenting on it.
Do catch the programme and maybe you may come to understand this football rule better. It is not anyone's fault that some of us are ignorant of it but one should be big enough to admit and accept once it is proven to be the rule of the game and until its changed, we should accept it as part of the game. Otherwise you may end up looking rather silly like one guy here who said you don't need to get the ball across the opponent's half first when you start a game.
Actually, I sense that the problem here isn't because giggs took an early free-kick but rather to some of you here and in Sports, The problem is because it's man utd that is why you are all making all this fuss. To some of you, i believe you may have genuine intentions but rules are rules and taking an early free-kick is within the rule.
No one here is blindly supporting a wrong action, it seems to me that they are only pointing out a rule to those who don't seem to understand it or are not aware of it. I personally won't support any thing blindly, but when it is proven to me as a fact... I will accept it as my mistake and move on...
Henry have scored for Arsenal with quick free-kicks, he has also scored for France at international level. Has anyone ever said he cheated by taking a quick free-kick? No, they said he was a quick-thinker and called him a genius.
And for those who wants the statement,
The Free-Kick Law
The referee only needs to blow his whistle if the attacking team ask him to move the wall back. Otherwise, the kick can be taken quickly, without warning.

GIGGS: REF TOLD ME TO TAKE IT
Ryan Giggs has revealed that the referee gave him permission to take the quick free-kick that sparked such controversy in Manchester United's Champions League win over Lille.
And the Welsh midfielder says he was amazed by the reaction of the Lille players - before adding even more spice to the second leg by quipping, "That's the French I suppose."
"The ref came over and said do you want the whistle, and I said no, I'll take a quick one," Giggs explained to the Manchester Evening News.
"So I said to Wayne, put the ball down, and that was it. I was pleased to see it go in, if it hadn't I probably would have had a few words off the boss!"
"Obviously I was pleased with the result, it was a somewhat contentious goal, but I'm obviously pleased with it.
"But the last time I scored a goal like that, no one thought about walking off the pitch.
"I was just amazed by what was happening around us, we didn't know what was going on, but that's the French I suppose." -
