Sunderland 2-1 Derby
Liam Miller struck deep into stoppage time to hand Sunderland a crucial victory at home against Derby.
Miller climbed high to head home Grant Leadbitter's late cross, flicking the ball beyond Stephen Bywater's reach.
Sunderland had taken the lead when David Connolly scored from the spot after a foul on him by Marc Edworthy. Giles Barnes scored a stunning solo goal to level, beating two men and firing home, but after Daryl Murphy hit a post, Miller grabbed the winner.
Sunderland boss Roy Keane:
"Right now we're the fourth or fifth best team in the league because that's where we are in the table. "It was a very close game and it could have gone either way. "Both teams had chances. It was a great game for the neutral and it was nice to score a goal so late."
Derby manager Billy Davies:
"I thought we deserved to come away with three points." "I thought we matched them in the first half and then pummelled them in the second, having about 25 chances to their four. "I'm sure Roy Keane and his players and the fans of this club are feeling very fortunate tonight."
I guess he and Mark Hughes are the only 2 ex-players who stand a chance to be the next united manager when fergie leave... right? -
On my football manager game he IS the next manager for Man Utd for awhile, before David Moyes took over

doing well in championship does not mean they will do well in Premier Legaue.
The mgr may lose his marbles when playing in the premierleague. -
One step at a time... For a new manager to take a team at the foot of the table to promotional contenders in the League Championship is no simple task also.

Kudos for Roy Keane..
i think it is good development for young MU players playing on-loan to learn their trade there..
just like in spanish league where Barcelona or Real Madrid B team playing in league 2 but cannot move up to league 1..
...hmmm.. leeds have been dropping into 3rd tier..
and hope Derby comes to the premiership
i think it is about 10 years ++ since they are in league 1..
i remember they were still in Division 1 in the 90's or 80;s
along with clubs like Sheffield Wednesday ^^ -
all the top teams drop points.
sunderland is now only 3 points behind the top 2.
