Henrik Larsson has saluted the professionalism of team-mate Ryan Giggs as he prepares to make his 700th appearance in a red shirt at Anfield on Saturday.
The Welsh winger is second in the club's list of all time appearance-makers and is fast approaching Sir Bobby Charlton's record total of 759.
Despite having only spent a matter of weeks alongside Giggs, it didn't take Larsson long to recognise the 33-year-old's unique qualities.
"He's an excellent player and a brilliant professional," declared the Swede on his offical Icons website.
"He's been around for a long time and just seems to be able to maintain the highest standards. He takes his job very seriously and works hard to ensure that he is still going strong.
"I love how focused he is and although he might seem a little laid back he is one of the most determined footballers I have seen. Add that to his tremendous skills and you have a great player."
When the Reds line up at Anfield on Saturday, it will be 16 years and a day since the United winger made his debut against Everton in the old first division. How fitting it would be if, on his 700th appearance, he also struck his 100th league goal.
