Portuguese winger Nani is one of Manchester United's main summer targets, according to reports. The Red Devils are currently flying high at the top of the Premiership table, but the signs are they're hoping to get even stronger once the season is over.
Saturday's Guardian claims Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping to tie up three major post-season transfers, and says Sporting Lisbon ace Nani is one of them. And the paper says United also want to complete a deal for Bayern Munich's England midfielder Owen Hargreaves, and land a top striker as well.
United's interest in Nani is bound to increase speculation that Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Old Trafford in the summer. Ronaldo, who himself joined the club from Sporting, is wanted in Spain with Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly willing to pay up to £40million for his services.
United have repeatedly said he's not for sale, but Spanish reports say he'd welcome a move to La Liga. The 20-year-old Nani is also wanted by several other clubs, with French champions Lyon among them.
But United's strong relationship with Sporting could see them win the race. And a clause in Nani's contract means he could leave for £13.4million.
