  Grant Tway Martin, I notice that Cristiano Ronaldo has got 16 Premiership goals already this season. I was wondering if this is a record for a midfielder already - or how many he has to get to be the highest midfielder scorer in one season of the Premiership?
  
  MARTIN SAYS: It is not an outright record yet Grant, but with eight games to go and Cristiano Ronaldo in the form he is, you wouldn't bet against him surpassing the season's best for a midfielder which does indeed stand at 16. Of course, these questions drag up the old debate of whether we class wingers as midfielders, but neither Andrei Kanchelskis in 1995-96 and Frank Lampard in 2005-06 played up front as such, and are the joint record holders for a Premiership season. Other more 'bona fide' midfielders, such as Gus Poyet, Freddie Ljungberg and Robert Pires have also led the scoring charts for non-strikers, and here is a complete rundown of the top midfield scorers for every Premiership season.

  He was taking Arsenal's penalties until he missed some important ones then it was pass over to Henry... I think now its Gilberto after Henry also had a few not successful ones.

  is it? i always thought it was henry taking penalties..hmmm..

  I think I read that Henry would not take a penalty if he is the one fouled.

  Drogba is a striker, not a midfielder... Lampard, SWP, Robben & Ballack are the midfielders.

  I think he truly deserved it. He has worked hard gettting into good offensive position and scoring spectacular and important goals.

  Lol the description was more of a Ginola's style rather than Cantona... Cantona was a striker, a play-maker but i don't think ever a left winger for united...
  
  Anyway, from what i have read, he never like Ginola in the French team cos he considered him a lazy player...
  
  And he once described national teammate Didier Deschamps derisively as the water-carrier. Cantona meant that Deschamps only existed to pass the ball to more talented players.

  Actually, it sounds like the kind of mistake he might make. But I'll give him benefit of the doubt, being a Chelsea fan afterall. Even my friend's girlfriend knows and she is a Chelsea fan.

  He was the 2nd striker, the guy behind the main striker. That gives him the freedom to move about. The same position Rooney is playing today...
