BENNI McCARTHY has told Manchester United: Come and get me. McCarthy, 29, joined Blackburn last summer for a bargain £2.5million from Portuguese side Porto. The South African has netted 18 goals this season and is keen to repay boss Mark Hughes for giving him a chance in the Premiership. But McCarthy admits he would love to pull on the famous red shirt of his boyhood idols. The striker said: "I have always dreamed about playing for United. "They are the most popular team in my country. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan are nothing in comparison. "With the attackers United have, I don't think I have much chance of moving to Old Trafford. "But I want to see myself playing for the best and you must have ambition. Without it, players are nothing.
"That's not being disrespectful to Blackburn because they are a very good club and the management, the players and fans have all made me feel very welcome. "At the moment, my ambition is to make Blackburn a big force in the Premiership and win the FA Cup — but I am a dreamer."
