Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed his surprise at learning Manchester United were issued fewer tickets than Watford for Saturday's FA Cup semi-final at Villa Park. United, who boast an average home attendance four times greater than that of their opponents, were handed 200 less tickets than Watford. Watford have not managed to sell all of their 17,800 tickets, meaning 1500 seats will remain empty due to segregation issues.
"I cannot understand it," said Ferguson. "There is something wrong with the game when we get 76,000 fans every week and get fewer tickets than Watford. "It is not Watford's fault, that problem lies elsewhere, but I am surprised at the situation.
