AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti admits United pose a greater threat than when his side knocked the Reds out of the Champions League two seasons ago.
The Rossineri overcame Bayern Munich in Germany on Wednesday night to seal a 4-2 aggregate victory and book their semi-final berth against United.
Sir Alex Ferguson's young team were beaten 1-0 twice in the 2004/05 second round, but Ancelotti admits the Reds are a different proposition with their subsequent maturation.
“Manchester are very strong on the break with real pace and a solid defence," Ancelotti said after his side's win.
"They have different qualities from Bayern, but we beat them twice two years ago and have the small advantage of playing the second leg on home turf.
“They have got some more experience into their best players like Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. They have the same approach as back then, but with more quality now.”
The Milan manager conceded that his side may not be favourites to win the tournament due to the overwhelming English contingent in the semi-finals, but he was delighted just to have negotiated a path past Bayern.
“The fact three English teams went through shows they are in good shape,” he said. “Manchester United are a strong side, but at this stage we are happy to be facing them, as we certainly had less of a chance of going through than Bayern going into the second leg.” -

today's Milan might not be the one in the 90s but they're still full of experiences in their team, on paper ManU might looks stronger but team of so mach experiences usually are able to grind out result in a cup match.. but i would like to see a English team win the ECL cup this season cause they really deserved it.. they're the best league currently IMO

Nd doubt we look like having more firepower but Milan is a team that does not misses an opportunity when it matters.

man utd isnt firing on all cylinders la.... 2 losses b4 a 7-1 win... this smacks of erratic form -
mufc got owned by them due to their inexperience..
hopefully, MUFC can use Milan as stepping stones. -
