SAHA BAIT IN BERBA MOVE

LOUIS SAHA will be offered as bait as Alex Ferguson steps up his bid to land Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov. But White Hart Lane boss Martin Jol will fiercely resist offers for the Bulgarian who has hit 20 goals in his debut Premiership season. But just as was the case with Michael Carrick – who was also a Spurs "untouchable"-Berbatov looks certain to move to Old Trafford in the summer.
The hitman, 26, revealed United made an "unconvincing" move to sign him prior to his £10.9million Spurs switch. But this time the bidding could even go as high as £16m as Fergie looks to beef up a strike-force which most believe is one quality striker short.
Saha, 28, is valued at £6m and a United source revealed: "Berbatov is the one Fergie wants and he'd be ready to let Louis go. "Pairing Wayne Rooney with Dimitar would be incredible and the money is there — as well as for Owen Hargreaves' Bayern Munich switch." -

But if give saha away, we will still be one striker shot... Somehow i feel Alan Smith, hardworking as he is... He won't give you much goals... Saha on the other hand, better goal return...

guess SAF patience has run out and looks like Saha isgonan be the next one to move out, it would definitely be good if the trade off works out
but knowing Hotspur, they'll probably ask for more... lets wait up and see how the story unfolds.. i like smith ever since he came over, hardworking and give all his best, no doubt his scoring powers is less effective than of Saha's, at least he is less selfish and would set up the ball for other team mates when required, and i'm sure he's less injury prone than Saha is. But i wonder with all the strike force in place - Roony, Smith, Ole, Rossi, Ronaldo/Berbetov, ... If Dong will ever get a chance to play..

He seems pretty good... Well built, will give defenders problems in the box. Got good strength, can hold his own against strong defenders, Good in the air as well, saw how Terry couldn't handle him recently when they met... And most importantly can score goals as well... Dimitar Berbatov has scored 20 goals in his debut season for Spurs liao... Not bad for a striker with limited support from the midfield.

anyway did anybody see messi's goal in the 5-2 demolition of getafe? top notch goal.... too bad barca lost in the league last weekend -

Louis Saha's future will be decided this week when Sir Alex Ferguson holds talks with the injured strikerÂ’s agent. As Sportsmail revealed last week, Ferguson is considering selling Saha this summer after becoming frustrated with his inability to stay fit.

saha has never gone a season w/o getting injured but i still prefer him over smith. manu should just get berbatov and keep saha cos they need the depth upfront since ole is retiring soon
