Singer-turned-actor Justin Timberlake has revealed that has become a huge fan of football club Manchester United after becoming friends with striker Alan Smith.

The 26-year-old star bumped into Smith at Manchester's trendy Lowry Hotel a few months ago, and since then, they have been good friends.
"I'm a Red! I'm mates with Smithy so he's my favourite player but Ronaldo doesn't suck either, he's awesome. I really like Rooney too," the Sun quoted him as saying.
"Smithy hooked me up with some tickets so I went to watch the home game against West Ham," he added.
Timberlake also talked about the excitement that filled him after he had seen the Reds lift the Premiership trophy at the end of the season, despite a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
"It was kind of fun to see a game that didn't matter because all the fans cared about was the Premiership cup being presented after the game," he explained.
He also revealed that the same night, Smith went to watch his Manchester show along with his teammates Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick.
Timberlake, who knows former England captain David Beckham too, believes that the ex-Real Madrid star may help convince Americans to fall in love with soccer.
"I may go and check him out at LA Galaxy but it won't be like watching Manchester United," he said.
"They are definitely plucking from the top to get some interest in America but I don't know, man, we have our own football too," he added.
