Fergie fight Real for Jovetic
ALEX FERGUSON is facing a battle with Real Madrid for Partizan Belgrade wonderkid Stevan Jovetic. SunSport revealed first that the Manchester United boss has offered £7million for Montenegro hitman Jovetic, 17. Fergie tried to clinch a deal with Partizan straight away to avoid competition from Spanish giants Real. Montenegro FA president Dejan Savicevic said: “I am not surprised by the interest of Manchester United. “Stevan could play in any of the biggest clubs in Europe. And I think United would get him on the cheap even for a £7million.”
Jovetic, who made his full senior debut for Montenegro in a friendly against Hungary, has banged 18 goals in 54 games for Partizan. Now Ferguson must wait till the end of the season as Ajax, AZ Alkmaar, Heerenven and Sampdoria are also in the frame.
Partizan director Gordan Petric said: “We must decide the pros and cons of selling Jovetic. We will decide that at the end of the season. A lot of clubs are interested in him.”
