Burnley manager Owen Coyle claims his side are in negotiations with Chris Eagles over a potential transfer to Turf Moor.
The 22-year-old winger has found senior opportunities limited since making his debut in October 2003, and hasn't made a first team appearance since last December.
Tabloid rumours have suggested that a host of Championship clubs are monitoring his situation, and Clarets boss Coyle admits his side face competition if they are to seal a deal for Eagles.
"It’s a bit complicated, in that there is another club interested in him, but he has real quality," Coyle told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"We had a terrific meeting with him and his representative, obviously with permission from his club, because there would be a big fee involved in that."

good looking anot, both didnt live up to their full potential.
i vividly remember tat luke chadwick was referred as the combi of giggs n beckham. ![]()
chadwick was good, but there was no space for him to develop in the main team. wasted. i like him.
is this a waste of talent that happens alot in good teams that splash on foriegn players? Man U not excluded
These boys were not consistent... They are good players and show flashes of form going forward but don't know how to defend and they are not consistent with going forward either... If they had shown good consistent form even in training, they would make the grade... Giggs was a good example... consistency, consistency even from the time he came out as a 17, 18 yrs old.
Fletcher, O'Shea, Brown... these are the few who made it over the years... But they are still not as good so what is Eagles? Who has been given 4 to 5 yrs to break into the first team... But fail.
