Wenger: Three Points Off Man U Is A Must

After losing their third game of the season, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that their next fixture, against Manchester United, is a must win match.

With accumulated losses against the Premier League's seemingly lesser sides (Fulham, Hull City, and more recently Stoke City), Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger has acknowledged that his side can ill afford any repeat upsets.

The Gunners' next league game is against Manchester United at the Emirates, but they will have to play without Emmanuel Adebayor who is injured, and Robin Van Persie who faces suspension following his dismissal at the Britannia Stadium.

Wenger believes a home win is a mandatory requirement this weekend if Arsenal are to put their title bid back on track, as another loss would mean that they are truly out of it.

"I don’t know how many more defeats we can afford," Wenger told the Express. "We have to win when we play Manchester United on Saturday. "There is no better game to come back from and show we have quality," the Frenchman declared.

Sagna, Walcott, Gallas will play... with Walcott the least likely... But still in with a chance. Sagna is already ok, Gallas was never injured, only that Stroke match he got angry after their Spurs game... and either didn't want t play or Wenger rested him for this match...

    Ronaldo wants Arsenal scalp

Cristiano Ronaldo feels Manchester United have to take advantage of Arsenal’s dip in form when the two sides meet at the weekend.

Arsenal have gone three games without a win and were well below par during Wednesday’s draw with Fenerbahce in the Champions League.

The Gunners’ credentials for a title challenge have been called into question and Portuguese star Ronaldo feels The Red Devils have to take the full haul of points.

"We want to win the title so we have to get three points there," Ronaldo said.

"I don't know if it is tough for them at the moment but they will still have 11 players, the same as us, and I know it will be difficult because it always is.

"But we have a great spirit and we are a great team, so our aim is to pick up three points."

with a dodgy goalie, and striker adebayor out for 3 weeks, with walcott and gallas as 50% for this match, the most arsenal hope is a draw. also out is van persie due to suspension. They can't beat man u with bentner as striker, or with vela. with a strikeforce like this down to the bare bones, how to get past rio or vidic. If man u dun squander its chances against celtic in mid-week, they sure win comfortably, but having said that, with CL in midweek, both teams may be lethargic and tired and this could pan out as a draw. I just cant see arsenal winning man u.remember 2005 fa cup final, which man u dominated the whole match, but failed to score and went on to lose on penalties and henry didnt play in that match.

Brown is out of contention for the match.

    Fletch in fear of backlash

Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has admitted that he expects Arsenal to "come out fighting" when the two sides meet on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium, live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1.

Arsenal have gained just one point from their last two Premier League games and head into the clash on the back of a frustrating 0-0 draw against Fenerbahce in midweek.

But despite enduring a difficult start to the season, the Gunners only trail the current league champions by a single point and Fletcher is all too aware that leapfrogging his side would provide the perfect remedy for Arsenal's recent woes.

"They will come out fighting," the Scot insisted.

"I am sure they will have been hurt by the criticism they have had with certain teams saying this and that.

"They will have read all the comments, so they will be coming out to show they are not all just about passing and flair.

"Criticism like that will only spur them on."

    RETURN IN SIGHT FOR SCHOLES

Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes could be back in action for the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan next month.

Scholes was ruled out for 10 weeks when he suffered knee ligament damage against Aalborg in September but has returned to light training and could potentially make his comeback against Tottenham on December 13 before flying to the Far East.

The former England star joins another long-term absentee Owen Hargreaves on the sidelines for the trip to Arsenal, while Wes Brown has also been ruled out for another week as he rests an ankle problem. Darren Fletcher (knee) is a doubt but captain Gary Neville is fit.

Arsenal forward Robin van Persie is suspended.

Emmanuel Adebayor (ankle) and Emmanuel Eboue (knee) will miss out, along with long-term absentees Tomas Rosicky and Eduardo.

its hard to say la...Arsenal's fringe players might step up their game since its already rare for them to get a match let alone play in such an important one.

im not worried bout this.. man utd players always have motivation against arsenal too..

and fergie will definitely not want to lose to wenger of all people. so man utd game is on the upped too..

so it boils down to luck as quality is on man utd side..

I mean there is no sure thing as 100%, but this is my analysis. arsenal 2 main strikers r out, as in adebayor and van persie, bentner and vela are inexperienced to lead the line. arsenal defence seems to be leaking in goals, so u believed they will stop man u from scoring? 3-0 to man u is a bit 2 much lar lol, maybe 1-0 or 2-0 or even 2-1 to man u. rio and vidic will take care of bentner and vela,so I cant see them scoring. with rooney, tevez as maybe sub, berbatov and ronaldo, how to stop such a forward line from scoring. Arsenal defenders will have a hard time with them. Thats why I said, a draw is the most arsenal can hope for.

zocoss: cannot be latest reporks is that Eboue, Adebayor and Gallas is out, if Silvestre out even better.

    Almunia

    Diaby Djourou Toure Clichy

    Denilson Ramsey Fabregas Song Nasri

    Bendtner

this is their worst case scenario, damage control.
