Fergie concerned as Rio suffers setback

  Manchester United will send Rio Ferdinand to visit a back specialist on Monday in an attempt to correct what Sir Alex Ferguson has described as a ‘big, big problem’ for the defender.

  “We have a problem,” Ferguson told Sky Sports prior to kick off at Old Trafford.

  “He trained all week, no issues at all, but woke up this morning and had a spasm so it is a big, big problem for us.

  “It has been going on for a while so we are sending him to a specialist tomorrow to do another scan and we are going to have to try to get to the bottom of it because it’s a disappointment.”
