Danny Simpson is hoping to earn himself an extended run in the Blackburn first team.
The 22-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Ewood Park from Manchester United.
While he has not figured as often as he would have liked this term, he was drafted back into the fold for Rovers' FA Cup clash with Coventry on Saturday.
He is now hoping to retain his place in the coming weeks, but admits that he may struggle to dislodge experienced Dutchman Andre Ooijer as Sam Allardyce's first choice right-back.
Simpson said: "I had a good run at the start of the season and I want to play in the Premier League.
"But the guy who is in my position has won so many caps for his country. He has been around the game for years.
"He has a lot of experience and with the situation Blackburn are in at the moment the manager is going with him.
"But I will continue to work hard on the training ground and if Andre gets banned or injured I have got to be ready to step in."

With Welbeck's form... I almost forgot Fraizer Campbell also...
I think Welbeck has taken his chance well when call upon... Before Campbell left, he was behind him. Now I think he is ahead of Campbell...

No choice, they had to do something in the deal for berbatov.
Too bad he isnt in harry's plan but when called up at spurs, he did very well each time by either scoring or assisting.
that guy got raw power and pace. abit different to welbeck.
they can be the next andy cole and dwight yorke. =D

He can stay at blackburn, with rafael, neville and brown, he is'nt gonna be getting any action anytime soon

Recalling some of his perfomances last season, i feel he defends better than Rafael lei. but going forward lose out abit.
