Angelo delight? Wigan promise to return Henriquez to United a better player
Martinez has agreed a loan deal for the Chile striker and aims to give him the 'Tom Cleverly treatment'
Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is promising to send Angelo Henriquez back to Manchester United as a red-hot Chile striker.
Martinez has agreed a loan deal with Sir Alex Ferguson for the teenager who joined United in the summer but is being farmed out to the Latics to give him a shot at playing in the Premier League.
Henriquez – signed from Unversidad de Chile – has played and scored for the full Chile side but struggles to start for United reserves as he adjusts to English football.
Martinez pledges to give Henriquez the ‘Tom Cleverley treatment’ and return him to Old Trafford a ready-made player for the Manchester giants.
Martinez said: “Angelo is as good a goalscorer as you will find. He scored goals at Universidad de Chile and he is going to score goals here.
“I am sure he will be an important player for United. We are glad we can work with him and he can use Wigan as Tom Cleverley did and adapt to what is needed in this league.”
