So its sunday, what is everyone doing out there? Down under in adelaide, it is cloudy, looks like its going to rain. Thoughthe birds are chipring still and i can see quite a few people in the park...

going to church is still all right, but I don't... you know why...
in the Bible, the creation process is from day 1 to day 6 and God rested on the seventh day, hence sabbath. The creation process is NOT Sunday to Saturday, Days, in itself, is an invention of man. If Sunday is the first day of the week, then why are we NOT working.... Well, I am sure that because you run your own business, you can work on Sunday, and rest on Saturday. For the rest of us poor sods, who do not run our own business, we work on Monday and rest on Sunday.
So if we conclude that Sabbath is the day before Day 1, therefore day 1 is the first day of work, MONDAY. Sunday, then becomes Sabbath....

okok... here are some explaination I heard of on why Sunday is consider 1st day of the week and we go church?
1) we honor the Lord with the first, hence Church on Sunday
2) We are not to work on the Lord's day; ie. Sabbath, if Chuch is on Saturday, then Pastor have to work on a Sabbath, which is a sin, so for the sake of the pastors/church staffs, church is on the next dat, Sunday.

Personally, I don;t quite care, the orginal command is, six days you shall work, and on the seventh, you rest.
(and I don;t, its more important to honor the Lord with our lives daily than pick a day in a week to do it) -
but only ONE day is made HOLY.... the others are not. So I would think that it would be important which day is it. Our Yahweh is not a careless God, He is concerned with the minutest details... He organised the stars and the course of the planets... the seasons etc... I think He would be mindful of the Sabbath. It is stated in the commandments, you will observe the sabbath to KEEP it HOLY. I am sure you don't want to do it on the wrong day... ? With things that are really important to Yahweh, He repeats the point over and over... in my opinion the problem with christianity today is that they lack the fear of the Lord because it is so watered down by the message of grace such that christians today think that Yahweh does not care about anything else just so long as they believe and they are saved... -

Personally, I feel the main principle is this, Six days, we work, on the Seventh, a Sabbath, rest.
8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
The secondary issue is, which is the first day, and which is the seventh dat? to this, I will rather leave it to individual convictions.

if the designation of the days are man made, then how do you think the nation of Israel came by friday sundown to saturday sundown to obeserve the sabbath? who designated time and who chose that particular day for the nation of Israel, keeping in mind that they are the ones who have walked with Yahweh the longest. I agree with Vince, the issue really is NOT what day is which, but the principle of rest for a given amount of work done.
