Hmm .. vince you check brey got online during Sabbath or not.
errr... you don't need to love Hashem, which is the first and foremost reason why you have salvation in the first place??Originally posted by vince69:actually, New Testament christians only need to follow one commandment - love one another as I (Christ) had loved you. one principle rule, be imitator of Christ.
remember rule #1 : Always listen to God.
*** I very slow one, cannot remember so many rules & commandments & laws type .... ... maybe thats why God need to write His laws into my heart in case I forget plus a counsellor in case I blur plus lots of grace and mercy in case I failed ..
God very good hoh ...
isn't this supposed to be the first commandment?Originally posted by breytonhartge:errr... you don't need to love Hashem, which is the first and foremost reason why you have salvation in the first place??
do Yeshua love His Abba? imitate Him (do like wise)Originally posted by breytonhartge:errr... you don't need to love Hashem, which is the first and foremost reason why you have salvation in the first place??
problem here is that you have to understand what Yeshua would do in the proper context, not in the replacement theology context of most of the church today. Understand Yeshua was a Jew. If you don't you might come to a wrong answer of what Yeshua would do.Originally posted by vince69:do Yeshua love His Abba? imitate Him (do like wise)
sometime back there is this slogan
WWJD ... What would Jesus Do? its a slogan that says, in everything you do, every decision you make, every situation you are in, ask this question,
What Would Jesus Do?
you cannot even hold a pen on Sabbath you know.Originally posted by breytonhartge:depends on what you are doing on the net. as long as it is not work related, that is fine or related to the preparation for work.

Then you can hold the mouse meh?
What did Yeshua say? It is ok to help people on Shabbat.Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:Would you pull an icemoon out of a well if he was somehow stuck in one on the Sabbath?
obviously you never read what the Talmud has to say about the Sabbath.Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:Would you pull an icemoon out of a well if he was somehow stuck in one on the Sabbath?
if you don't want to follow what God has in mind for you .. it is ok.Originally posted by breytonhartge:i think this can be disputed...
I know what Shabbat is for, do you?Originally posted by Icemoon:if you don't want to follow what God has in mind for you .. it is ok.
Seriously do you know what the Sabbath is for?
It is not a day of rest. You can rest on any day of the week.
Yes.Originally posted by breytonhartge:I know what Shabbat is for, do you?
we understand each other then.Originally posted by Icemoon:Yes.
Do you believe me?
Okie... coming up...Originally posted by vince69:and I am still trying to figure what to do on Sabbath ...
Brey, what you said about having to understand what Yeshua would do in the proper context, not in the replacement theology context, is good.
Though it is desireable and highly encourage to seek these knowledge and apply them, we need to understand that wisdom need to be excerised.
In saying this, I mean, when we say, you must do this and that ...etc, we must be careful that we are not imposing too much a bundle on them, example; much that it is desire, would we be reasonable to expect a 80yrs old new convert (someone's grandparents) to know about Jewish traditions (he/she may not even speak english/chinese much less hebrew/greek)? how is a 30+ yrs old lay person gonna to instruct them? ...etc
btw, my parents accepted Christ when they are in their 70s.
That's why, I asked for the practical aspect of applying this.
God bless.

Yes .. the Sabbath is for the Jews to be a living testimony to God's creation.Originally posted by breytonhartge:we understand each other then.
yes, I believe you.
The Sabbath is for the Jews and Jews only. Unless you want to convert, you cannot observe the Sabbath.Originally posted by vince69:In saying this, I mean, when we say, you must do this and that ...etc, we must be careful that we are not imposing too much a bundle on them, example; much that it is desire, would we be reasonable to expect a 80yrs old new convert (someone's grandparents) to know about Jewish traditions (he/she may not even speak english/chinese much less hebrew/greek)? how is a 30+ yrs old lay person gonna to instruct them? ...etc
Actually Shabbat is for all who believe in Hashem.Originally posted by Icemoon:Yes .. the Sabbath is for the Jews to be a living testimony to God's creation.
By the way .. there are 39? melachah forbidden on the Sabbath. One of them involves bringing something from private domain to public domain. I suppose this melachah applies to the internet?
So you should not hold a mouse on Sabbath. Unless you want to hold for fun.
The context was surfing SGF. Unless you restrict yourself to surfing and not replying any "challenges".Originally posted by breytonhartge:Can hold a mouse on Shabbat. Can even use the mouse... but maybe cannot type? Depends on whether you take an orthrodox or reformed perspective. The arguments range long and wide.
depends on whether you are expending energy in the pursuit of creating something... ? then how do you define what is creating something and what is not? its like asking how long is a piece of string right? Even amongst the Jews, there is much debate on what is acceptable and what is not in terms of keeping Shabbat.Originally posted by Icemoon:The context was surfing SGF. I'm not sure whether you can play counterstrike on Sabbath.
